The 68CB6 is a Configurable Open Systems Architecture™ (COSA®) 3U OpenVPX™ board that is preconfigured with 10 different “inboard” I/O, measurement and communication functions. This Combination-function Board (CB) provides a full suite of some of the most common & useful function interfaces supporting many different applications. It accept single ended (Unbalanced) or differential (Balanced) signals with amplitudes as little as 100mV rms; it divides the input signal frequency from 2 to 256 times depending on shunt jumper selections on J3. The board requires 5VDC 500mA power source to operate. The output is capable of driving 5V TTL logic levels.

Four Channel Low-Noise DC Bias Card

The PI-41702 is a four channel bipolar DC Bias supply that can provide an output current up to 100 mA per channel. The output voltage ranges from –8 V to +8 V, and this card has special filter circuitry to reduce the output noise for those applications that require a low noise bias output. Additionally there is a ‘D’ type connector that allows the introduction of laboratory type supplies to reduce the noise further. To change from using the internal power supplies to external power supplies requires repositioning jumpers. The PI-41702 also has voltage and current sense for remote measurement of the voltage and current levels.

Arden’s MPX Modal Explorer makes measurement of Encircled Flux easy, and accurate, and it complies with international standards. But if you are measuring laser-based transmission light sources for multimode systems you may need to use a test jumper assembly and fiber shaker in order to avoid “speckle”. Industry standards (for example IEEE 802.3aq and FOTP– 203) call for the use of a mechanical fiber shaker.

Frequency Meter
Frequency Meter is used for measuring the frequency of the signal coming to the input channels of ADC modules and FFT spectrum analyzers. The indicator displays the measured frequency value (frequency of periodic oscillations) and signal cycle time corresponding to the measured frequency. It is possible to change the averaging of the displayed value (0.1; 1, or 10 s) and to select a necessary channel of the ADC module, FFT spectrum analyzer or a virtual channel.

Vibration Meter
The input signal of the Vibration meter software, which is the output signal of the accelerometer, i.e. the vibrational acceleration signal, is filtered by means of one of four possible digital band filters. Then, based on this signal, vibrational velocity and displacement signals are calculated by means of integrating filters. Thus, the software generates three signals which are transferred to the ZETLAB data server virtual channels created by the program and having the word “Acceleration”, “Speed” or “Displacement” in their names, respectively.Signals are averaged for a selected time interval (0.1 s, 1 s, or 10 s), after which the obtained values are displayed in the dialog box elements of the Vibration meter program. It is possible to display a root-mean-square (RMS), average amplitude or peak value.
