Turbine Logging System
This Turbine Overspeed Trip Logging system has been developed to check the operation of steam turbines. The speed of the turbine is monitored using an optical sensor, the logging system can be mounted up to 30 meters from the sensor. This allows the overspeed trip speed to be monitored and recorded with greater safety that using a simple tachometer. The results are logged together with time and date stamp so that it can be demonstrated that the test has been carried out.

Wind Miser
The Wind Miser also greatly reduces or eliminates the occurrence of the Whisper turbine’s blade flutter in high winds, which creates a loud sound similar to a tractor trailer’s engine brake. This was a pleasant surprise, and was an unexpected result from the Wind Miser’s design. We believe that the Wind Miser’s continuous loading of the wind turbine over the entire alternator waveform, instead of the loading and unloading of the turbine which occurs as the alternator output waveform moves above and below the battery voltage, eliminates a cogging type of mechanical excitation to the turbine blades, thus reducing or eliminating the blade flutter and it’s annoying sound.

Presently, the most effective techniques involve curtailment, which requires a reduction in energy generation. NRG Systems understands that this is not an ideal option for wind plant operators, so we have set out to develop Bat Deterrent Systems that could significantly reduce bat take without curtailment, meaning operators can produce more renewable energy more of the time while keeping all bats out of harm’s way.
