Carbon / Water Analyzer

Determination of released carbon dioxide and water is a special requirement for quality control in the cement and lime industry. ELTRA’s CW-800 analyzer is designed for the precise, simultaneous determination of carbon dioxide and water in lime, gypsum and cement from trace level up to 100 % (depending on sample weight). Other sample materials include ores, soil and minerals. The CW-800 is equipped with a resistance furnace with quartz tube for sample oxidation and can provide temperatures up to 1000 °C. The temperature of the CW-800 can be set up in steps of 1 °C and the temperature is fixed during measurement. As common carrier gas in the CW-800 nitrogen is used.

Furnaces
These three zone resistance wire wound furnaces are of split construction to facilitate fast and easy loading of a pre-assembled specimen train. The case is constructed from stainless steel with aluminium and hardened insulation board end plates. The optional front cut-out allows the use of side-entry high-temperature extensometry. Adjustable stainless steel latches keep the furnace halves locked together during use, but are then easily opened once testing is complete. The furnace is available with optional heavy duty brackets or mountings, which attach to a wide range of testing systems. An extensive range of standard controllers is available to suit most test regimes. Custom variants can be specified should the standard range not include a suitable unit.

These extensometers use a high temperature capacitive sensor in combination with an innovative design to achieve high accuracy strain measurements in low measuring ranges not possible with other high temperature extensometers. They mount on a slide bracket (included) that can attach to the load frame of your test system; optional load frame mounting brackets are available. The overall design reduces any influence from common lab environment vibrations.The standard temperature version (to 1200℃) is supplied with high purity alumina rods. The high temperature option is furnished with alpha grade silicon carbide rods. Rods are made to order to the length required for your furnace. These units are made to order in many different gauge lengths and measuring ranges.The extensometer comes with a signal conditioner. The output is an analog DC voltage, factory calibrated with the extensometer to 0 to ±10 VDC typically. They are readily interfaced with most existing test controllers, and may be directly connected to data acquisition systems and chart recorders. Bringing the signal into a spare DC input channel (or external input) on the test controller allows the extensometer to be used for strain controlled tests like low cycle fatigue.

Pyroelectric and Thermal Testing
The optional Chamber Task measures the Pulse Polarization response and Small Signal Capacitance of a Pyroelectric material that is being heated and/or cooled within a thermal chamber, on a hot chuck or in a furnace. The Model 3549 is a major advancement in the design of externally mounted, furnace extensometers. This new extensometer is designed to meet the stringent requirements of strain controlled testing as prescribed in ISO 6892, while introducing many new innovative features that help improve productivity with static testing applications (tension and compression testing) and long term testing such as low cycle fatigue and creep. The overall design reduces any influence from common lab environment vibrations. This unit also incorporates a new feature that allows the user to precisely set the contact force against the test specimen. This allows for even and repeatable contact force, limiting contact force induced errors. This extensometer mounts on a slide bracket (included) that can attach to the load frame of your test system; optional load frame mounting brackets are available. The gauge length for the 3549 is automatically set prior to mounting on the test specimen, which allows for hot mounting after thermal equilibrium has been reached.

1 kW and 2 kW Laser-Based Floating Zone Furnace
Laser Furnace
The 1 kW and 2 kW laser furnace for single crystal fabrication is based on a design and developed in close cooperation with the RIKEN Center for Emergent Matter Science under the leadership of Yoshio Kaneko. Both melting zones have 5 lasers each, which guarantees a high uniformity of power density in the melting zone range. The laser profile has been optimized to reduce thermal stress during the crystal growth process. In addition, the system includes an integrated temperature sensor for real-time temperature monitoring. Temperatures up to 3000 °C can be reached and therefore materials with a very high vapor pressure, a narrow temperature range of the melt, a high thermal conductivity coefficient and incongruent melts can be melted.
