Description The Advanced CAT Series Analyzers and Timers are stand-alone or PC-controlled digital instruments for circuit breaker status evaluation. Timing channels record arc closing and opening, resistance and auxiliary contacts. The advanced CAT series records graphs of the opening and closing coil currents and the movements of the moving parts of the high and medium voltage circuit breaker. ORTEC offers the broadest range of nuclear counters, timers, rate meters and multichannel scalers. Counters simply count the number of input pulses received during the counting period. Timers count pulses generated by an internal or external clock and are used to measure elapsed time, or to establish the length of the counting period. Rate meters provide a readout of the pulse count rate. Multichannel scalers count the number of events that occur during a specified time interval, referred to as the dwell time, resulting in a time-histogram of counts. “Standalone” and programmable computer controlled versions are available.

The CPCI-AD16 module provides a 3U high performance data acquisition subsystem. The Local DSP can be used to simply move data samples to the CPCI bus or can provide processing functions such as limit checking, FFT’s, digitalfiltering, etc. Application software can be downloaded to the DSP via the CPCI interface. Instrumentation amplifiers provide over-voltage protection, gain and filtering on a per channel basis. Internal scan and trigger clocks are derived from either the CPCI bus clock or the local DSP clock. Dual 32 bit timers can programmed to pace the acquisition process. The CPCI-AD16 can also accept external scan and trigger signals from a front panel connector.

PXI-7901 can connect one input to one output and be used as signal switching and routing for measurement system or ATE. Thanks to its high switching capacity, PXI-7901 can also be used to turn on or turn off devices such as motors, fans, heaters, and lights. The contact position of the relays can be changed either by direct software commands or by following the instructions previously stored in the on-board scan list. The scan list advances upon the trigger from external measurement devices, such as a DMM. The scan list could also advance when the scan-delay timer expires. In the PXI-7901, PXI trigger functions are supported and software programmable. Multiple modules can therefore be synchronized without additional field wiring.
