PWC Dynamometers
Mount the DYNOmite absorber (and appropriate pump adapter) in place of the boat's standard nozzle and cone. Each pump adapter (sold separately) incorporates a shaft, driven by the impeller (without impeller removal). A load control valve (fed from your " garden hose) allows you to regulate RPM by varying absorber drag (while holding the throttle open). You can simulate running at any MPH from idle to top end. The DYNOmite's computer captures the engine's RPM from an (integral absorber mounted) magnetic RPM pickup. Torque readings come directly from a full-bridge (temperature- compensated) torque arm. Results are never estimated from vague hydraulic-pump pressures.

VDS
The Vibration Diagnostic System (VDS) is a vibration data management system designed specifically for the machinery Predictive Maintenance (PdM) community. It harnesses the graphic display capabilities of Crystal Instruments EDM Software for the work of machinery vibration analysts. It allows the user to quickly get to the data for a machine of interest and displays that data in the familiar Tri-axial or Single Axis view. Users can quickly compare other data from the same machine, quickly navigate back into the historical data of the machine, and quickly compare the data to that of other machines in the database. The software supports the construction of Average (a.k.a. baseline) data for a class of machines and allows easy comparison to that data as well. A full suite of cursors designed specifically for PdM analysis is provided for inuitive user interaction with the data.In addition to great graphics, an extensible machine modeling system was developed specifically for vibration analysis. VDS allows users to model machines based on the elements of the machine that can contribute to the vibration energy of the whole. Model bearings, rotors such as motor bars, couplings such as flexible and fluid couplings, account for slip in fluid couplings, model gears and pulley systems, and model turbines by accounting for each stage. The system is wide open, users can create new elements to use within a system. Users that may not want to do all that are provided with a comprehensive library of machine components such as AC and Induction Motors, Couplings, Gears, Pulleys, Pumps, and other components. Single and double gear shafts allows users to model many kinds of gear boxes with an unlimited number of stages. This ability alone lets users model their machines to view and use to keep track of vibration pickup locations, record the forcing frequencies of each part of the system, and attach attributes such as manufacturer and other part information.

Seismic Sensors & Transducers
Displacement Pickups are vibration transducers that incorporate a spring-mass system with eddy-current damping using a frictionless pivot. This pivot is a spring flexure that serves as the ‘spring’ and a moment arm attached to the pivot serves as the ‘mass’, which allows resolutions down to the micro inch range. At frequencies above 50Hz, the mass remains fixed in space and becomes an inertial reference. A transducer within the pickup senses the motion of the mounting base relative to the inertial reference and converts it into a proportional signal. Appropriate damping results in a frequency response flat down to 10 Hz. Note that the pickup senses in only one plane, which is perpendicular to the mounting base.

Turbine Flow Meters

Fluid entering the flow meter is first conditioned by the inlet flow straightener which reduces turbulence in the fluid. The moving fluid causes the rotor to spin at a speed that is proportional to its flow rate. The S700X SQUID Magnetometer is the most sensitive instrument for DC and AC measurement of magnetic properties as a function of magnetic field and temperature. Numerous different experiments may be performed with this unique instrument. The SQUID sensor at the heart of the system has an input noise power sensitivity of approximately 10-30 Joules per root Hz. This energy sensitivity is 108 better than any semiconductor device and accounts for the instrument's ability to resolve extremely small magnetic signals with accuracy and speed. The S700X has several modes of operation. The most widely used is the measurement of total magnetic moment made by moving the sample through a set of pick-up coils. During the measurement the sample temperature and applied magnetic field are precisely controlled. The second order gradiometer configuration used for the pick-up coils is insensitive to the externally applied field but allows samples of 10-11 Am2 total moment to be resolved with ease.

WB Series
Eddy-Current Brake Dynamometers (WB Series) are ideal for applications requiring high speeds and also when operating in the middle to high power range. Eddy-Current Brakes provide increasing torque as the speed increases, reaching peak torque at rated speed. The dynamometers have low inertia as a result of small rotor diameter. Brake cooling is provided by a water circulation system, which passes inside the stator to dissipate heat generated by the braking power. The water cooling in the WB provides high continuous power ratings (max. 140 kW). The WB dynamometers have accuracy ratings of 0.3% to 0.5% full scale ( 2% for WB 2.7), depending on size and system configuration. Additional options include: high-speed version, speed pickup, mechanical rotor blocking device, OEM version IS and vertical mounting.
