The 65-281-323 8:1 multiplexer is part of the 65-280 and 65-281 ranges of optical plug-in modules offering matrix & insert/bypass or multiplexer & SPST topologies respectively with all models based on MEMS fiber optic switches and available in various populations per plugin. In addition, a choice of different connector styles to suit most applications is offered: FC/APC (for optimal performance), FC/PC, SC/PC and ST for general applications and LC for high density applications. They use MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical-Systems) based optical switches to route signals between terminals by redirecting the optical signal. This is achieved using micromechanical mirrors driven by a highly precise mechanism activated via an electrical control signal.

It is designed to provide a simple and scalable bidirectional matrix for video frequencies and is intended for the easy construction of high performance bidirectional matrix switching systems. Software configuration allows the 60-711 to be set as a dual 24 by 8 matrix, a single 48 by 8 matrix and other configurations.

Matrix Switch Module
The 60-510 is a high density 1-pole matrix module controlled via LXI. It has excellent thermal stability and substantially reduced thermal EMF figures when compared to a conventional switching matrix. Typical applications include signal routing in ATE, selecting thermocouple inputs, switching amplifier gain circuits and high accuracy DC micro-volt measurements. Ruthenium reed switches are used because of their good low level switching capability. They also have a very long life with excellent contact resistance stability, minimal wetting current and low thermal offset.

Pickering's LXI 50 RF Matrix - 2.4GHz design permits any single Y input to be connected to any single X input, permitting the concurrent connection of 16 RF paths. All signal paths are bi-directional permitting any connection to be used as an input or an output. These matrices can be supplied in a variety of configurations based on Y axis sizes of 4, 8 and 16 and X axis sizes up to 32. The smaller matrix sizes in the range are factory reconfigurable up to the maximum size.
