The test is conducted at constant loading rate under test-force control or CTOD control and the load is removed to calculate the crack length. The software plots graphs of the crack length increase (Δa) and crack growth resistance (J value) from the acquired data, calculates the JIC value, and evaluates its validity.

The heat spreading angle can be set independently for each layer to a value between 0 and 45 degrees; the tool will automatically determine if heat flow reaches the layer edge and then convert to columnar flow.
