The EM-2108 is a standard test fixture for evaluation of the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness (SE) of planar materials. The fixture is a section of coaxial transmission line broken to allow the insertion of planar test materials. Although ASTM D4935-10 is currently limited to an upper frequency of 1.5 GHz, the EM-2108 meets and complies fully with both the impedance and SE requirements called out in ASTM test method D4935-10 up to 10 GHz. These results are shown in Figures 1 & 2. The measured data relates to the shielding effectiveness due to a plane wave (far field EM wave) from which near field values for magnetic and electric fields may be inferred.

The plug contact consists of a test plug for the transmission of the digital signals that meet your specific requirements and a suitable adapter (mounting unit). Due to their built-in rubber buffers, the mounting shoes have different degrees of freedom and allow a self-centering contact. Because of these flexible fixing tolerances on the product and in the contact area can be compensated (for example in case of misalignment or deviations in the assembly). The 16454A is designed for accurate permeability measurements of toroidal-shaped magnetic materials. Since the construction of this fixture creates one turn around the toroid (with no magnetic flux leakage), the need of winding a wire around the toroid is unnecessary. Complex permeability is calculated from the inductance with and without the toroid. When the E4991A/4291B with option 002 is used as the measurement instrument, direct readouts of complex permeability are possible.
