Level Measurement
Displacer level gauge for liquids from KOBOLD Instruments operates on the Archimedes principle. The level gauge's displacer tube rests inside the tank and is connected to the measuring unit via a spring. As liquid level increases, the buoyant forces of the liquid act on the displacer tube to reduce spring tension, allowing the spring to expand. The spring connects to a magnetic actuator, and the motion of the actuator is picked up by a magnetically linked indicator to yield the tank level measurement. The displacer level gauge is calibrated at the factory for the user's specified liquid density. Special designs with higher pressure or temperature ratings, as well as those made of exotic materials, are always available on request.

Model 7651 extensometers measure combined in-plane strains in flat cruciform specimens tested in machines capable of simultaneous X and Y (perpendicular) axial loading and on standard flat samples tested in pure tension. All models are capable of bi-directional displacement in both axes and may be used for strain-controlled fatigue testing under fully reversed load and strain conditions at frequencies up to 10 Hz.All 7651 models mount rigidly on the load frame and incorporate slide mounting to bring the extensometer into contact with the specimen. The gauge length is set automatically before mounting on the test specimen, which allows for hot mounting after thermal equilibrium has been reached.These units are specifically designed to eliminate crosstalk between axes and to provide high accuracy, high resolution measurements. They incorporate capacitive sensors for low operating force and include electronics with programmable filtering and multi-point linearization for improved performance and accuracy. The overall design minimizes, and in many cases virtually eliminates, any influence from common lab environment vibrations.These water-cooled extensometers are equipped with high purity alumina rods with conical rod tips for specimen contact when testing to 1200℃(2200°F). These extensometers are designed for testing a wide range of materials, including metals, plastics, composites and ceramics. All will work in both tension and compression. The dual flexure design makes them very rugged and insensitive to vibrations, which permits higher frequency operation.They come standard with Epsilon’s quick attach kit, making it possible to mount the extensometer on the test specimen quickly and easily with one hand. The quick attach kit can be removed, allowing mounting of the extensometer with springs or rubber bands.The Model 3542 extensometers are strain gaged devices, making them compatible with any electronics designed for strain gaged transducers. Most often they are connected to a test machine controller. The signal conditioning electronics for the extensometer is typically included with the test machine controller or may often be added. In this case the extensometer is shipped with the proper connector and wiring to plug directly into the electronics. The contact angle standard is a glass plate with images, representing sessile drops with different contact angles. The contact angle standard is manufactured by a high accurate lithographic process, so the images itself are very accurate according the given CAD-data. The Glass plate is placed on the measuring table instead of a real drop. The proof of the reproducibility of the contact angle measurement is performed by a repeated measurement of the object (sessile drop). For a correct test, the measurement must be performed, using the live video (not a frozen image). For a real sessile drop exists the problem, that it evaporates permanently. The result of the permanent evaporation is the permanent change of the contact angle. Therefore, the proof of the reproducibility of the contact angle measurement is not possible, using a real liquid, since the object changes permanently the contact angle!
