Teledyne Labtech prides itself in being at the forefront of RF/Microwave PCB development. Teledyne Labtech were also one of the first companies to successfully develop techniques for embedding SMD resistors and capacitors within multilayer structures and the embedding of connector pins in buried stripline circuits.The advantages of such a structures ensures a much higher density of interconnect. This then removes the need for via-hole connections to the board surface or the need to create access pockets to the inner layers. Consequently you finish with a board with that exhibits much lower RF/Microwave losses. This is particularly important when designing large RF feed networks or 16:1 power dividers.

Broadband Detectors
These waveguide bandwidth detectors use silicon beam lead diodes on a planar stripline circuit to obtain an extremely rugged and compact device. Most millimeter wave broadband detectors have very poor VSWR due to the difficulty in obtaining a good wideband impedance match to the diode. To overcome this problem, these detectors utilize two diodes and an internal matched termination and 3 dB hybrid as shown below. This circuit allows a VSWR of 2.0 or better over a full waveguide bandwidth for most of these detectors. Detectors for waveguides WR-8 and smaller use a single zero bias GaAs diode. The high sensitivity zero bias GaAs diodes can also be special ordered for use at lower frequencies when highest sensitivity is required.

Automotive EMC Testing
Having been assessed by Ford Detroit’s EMC expert, we are Australia’s only Ford (and NATA) accredited automotive EMC test laboratory. Others have tried, but none have succeeded. Ford does not accept reports from EMC labs that are not on the Ford list of accredited labs. The scope ranges from component to complete vehicle level EMC testing for Australian and overseas manufacturers. We also have a fully dedicated CISPR 25 Electronic Sub Assembly (ESA) chamber, another large CISPR 25 anechoic chamber for vehicle testing or susceptibility levels in excess of 500V/m. We possess a vast array of specific automotive EMC test equipment such as BCI’s, tri-plate’s, and striplines for susceptibility and emissions testing to meet the most stringent automotive EMC requirements. Our Australian and overseas customers use our labs because they know that our reports will be accepted and will not be questioned.
