Composite Inductors
Composite inductors are constructed by inserting a pre-wound coil over pre-press magnetic core and then pressing or molding a magnetic material around this assembly. The composite inductors are very similar to molded but typically offer lower DCR and lower overall losses. Our composite core inductors provide a fully shielded, high energy density, soft saturation solution for applications up to 120Apk. The construction enables the highest energy density of any available SMT inductors and also minimizes acoustic noise. We offer both commercial grade (-40C to 125C) and automotive grade (-55C to 155) in a wide range of platforms from 4x4x2mm to 17x16x13mm.

The TWA standard series instruments are designed to measure the resistance of six coils and simultaneously analyze the three-phase tap changer on load of the primary and secondary transformer coils (provided by model TWA40). This is done in a single cable configuration, with test currents up to 40A. Each transformer configuration has a special measurement algorithm that is optimized for rapid stabilization of test results. The TWA instruments generate a true DC current without ripple. Helmholtz Coils are ideal for the measurement of Rare Earth (Samarium Cobalt, Neodymium) and Hard Ferrite permanent magnet materials (materials which exhibit a relative straight line demagnetization). Our standard Helmholtz Coils are for use with fluxmeters. The Helmholtz Coil measures the magnet sample as a single magnetic moment provided that the longest dimension of the magnet sample is less than one-third (1/3) the diameter of the coil system. By definition, the magnetic moment per unit volume is the intrinsic magnetization of the sample. With our calibrated Helmholtz Coil and Integrated Fluxmeter – and given the volume of the permanent magnet sample – the intrinsic open circuit operating B (Bdi) can be measured.
