Designing an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is only the beginning. The features in ECUs, such as Powertrain Control Units, are quickly becoming more complex and offering more features. Thousands of variables are now provided for the engineer to modify during the in-vehicle calibration phase, and fine tuning them is as complicated as it is critical. Calibration tools significantly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of the ECU development process. These tools are typically comprised of PC-based software to perform the adjustment of the variables and an ECU hardware interface to provide the connection of the software to the controller. Teams must be able to measure and time-align relationships of inputs and outputs and make real-time modifications.

Automatic Calibration Module

ACM4509 is an automatic calibration module that can be used with all CMT Vector Network Analyzers operating in frequency range up to 9 GHz. It is a fully automatic USB-controlled and powered electronic calibration module. Minimizing the number of steps required by technicians reduces the risk of human error and expedites the calibration process. Automating the calibration routine also reduces wear and tear on the analyzer and RF cables. To perform full four-port calibration, each end of the ACM need only be connected to the analyzer once, as opposed to 18 connections with a traditional calibration. The ACM also contains a factory characterized 20dB in-line attenuator which acts as a simulated device under test (DUT). The confidence check feature loads the factory stored DUT into memory so proper calibration can be verified.

The Model T703 is a microprocessor controlled ozone calibrator for precision gas analyzers. The Model T703 can deliver concentrations from 50 ppb to 5 ppm at flows from 1 LPM to 5 LPM.The Model T703 has two major components; the ozone generating device and the photometer. The ozone generator produces ozone by passing zero air over a UV lamp. Flow rate and lamp intensity are adjusted to deliver a specified ozone concentration by volume. The temperate and pressure compensated photometer, identical to that of the Model T400 ozone analyzer, provides feedback control of the UV lamp intensity, assuring stable ozone output. A nearly unlimited number of calibration sequences may be programmed into the non-volatile memory of the T703, covering time periods up to a year.

The Fluke Calibration 6109A and 7109A Portable Calibration Baths are liquid baths that let process industry professionals calibrate four times more sanitary sensors per batch in less time and with twice the accuracy of other portable baths in this class. Larger than micro baths, up to four tri-clamp sanitary sensors fit easily into these baths for calibration at ± 0.1 °C temperature display accuracy. Throughput is even higher for sanitary RTDs with small or no flanges. Two bath models cover a wide temperature range: 35 °C to 250 °C for the 6109A and -25 °C to 140 °C for the 7109A. Each model offers a “-P” version that includes process electronics for connecting an external reference probe. Professionals working in clean process industries, including facilities managers, production engineers and calibration technicians, prefer these baths for a variety of reasons.
