Moisture Meters
Moisture can be found in any material. Even materials considered to be dry have a minor amount of moisture. An imbalance of moisture, whether it be excessive moisture or too little moisture, can cause problems ranging from undesired mold and bacteria growth to cracks and defects. To avoid a moisture imbalance, it is essential to monitor moisture content with a moisture meter that returns accurate and reliable measuring results. A moisture meter can measure the moisture content of everything from the air (relative humidity) to construction and building materials (concrete, wood) to biomass and agricultural products (hay, straw, grain, corn, beans, pellets) to solid waste (pulp, slurry) and beyond. Many moisture meter devices can also measure temperature. The moisture measurement range of each moisture meter varies depending on the model. Some moisture meter products take moisture measurements, store the moisture measurement data to an internal memory or SD cad, and allow the stored moisture measurement data to be transferred to a computer for detailed analysis by means of an evaluation software. PCE Instruments' moisture meter products come factory calibrated. ISO calibration certificates are available optionally for purchase as accessories to most moisture meter models. An ISO calibration certificate may be important to your company in meeting specific quality standards.

Glyphosate Testing Solutions
Glyphosate is a chemical herbicide used during cultivation of cereal grains, pulses, oilseeds, sugar beets and more. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified glyphosate as a Group 2B probable carcinogen in 2016. Since that time, at least 35 countries, regions and municipalities have moved to restrict or ban the use of glyphosate for commercial and noncommercial use.

Wired Hazard Monitoring
Grain dust is extremely volatile and can easily explode with the proper ignition source in confined spaces. OSHA has mandated that grain elevators in Class II, Division 1 environments must have the 3 monitoring sub-systems for elevator safety (1910.272(q)(4)(ii), 1910.272(q)(5), 1910.272(q)(5)).

SMART III RF Probe
Finna Sensors’ Smart III RF Moisture Probe is appropriate in those situations where NIR use on conveying systems/web applications or RF flat plate sensor use on board type products are not sufficient. Examples include tanks, bins, barrels, drums, Super Sacks™, silos, etc. These applications require a probe type moisture meter where the probe is inserted into, and is surrounded by product. Since the probe generates a 3 inch diameter radio frequency field around the length of the probe, a significant volume of product is measured. As the product is slowly removed from the silo, and refilled from the top, it passes by the RF Probe, thereby providing a constant real time moisture measurement. Typical applications would include starches, distillers and brewers grains, granulated chemicals or food ingredients, whole grains such as corn kernels, rice, soybeans, tree nut stockpiles, etc.

Deoxynivalenol Testing Solutions
DON
Deoxynivalenol (DON) is also known as vomitoxin because of its impact on livestock through interference with animal growth and acceptance of feed. DON has been implicated in moldy corn toxicosis of swine. DON is often present with other mycotoxins and has been isolated from grains and feeds throughout the world at levels as high as 92 ppm. Because of concerns about DON, the United States FDA has instituted advisory levels of 1 ppm for wheat products for human consumption, 5 ppm for grain products for most animal feeds and 10 ppm for grain products for cattle feed. The European Community has regulations for DON levels that range from less than 0.2 ppm in processed cereal based foods for infants and young children to less than 1.75 ppm for unprocessed wheat.
