Radar solution for molten metal filling level measurement

With the OndoSense radar sensors, the fill level of liquid steel or aluminum can be measured contact-free with sub-millimeter accuracy, even at metal temperatures of up to 1600 degrees Celsius. Dust, steam, smoke, vibrations and strong heat radiation have no influence on the high precision and reliability of the radar-based molten metal level monitoring. Active cooling of the level radar is usually not necessary.

This weather radar test fixture is a combination of the established WXT-250 series fixture and the RDR-2000 and RDR-2100 radars so that a single panel will provide many features that are still required today. The gyro simulator built into the panel is usable for either radar being tested and eliminate's plugging in any external simulator. The features for both product lines as shown in their respecting CMM's are provided on the panel so that full testing and alignment of these radars and their system components can be tested and/or evaluated. The RR024 is designed for Radar Electronic Support (RES) and Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) applications where high performance and small size are of prime importance, with filtering, amplification, detection and pulse parameter measurement being combined into one multi-function unit. Four amplitude measurement channels allow direction finding by amplitude comparison between adjacent antennas. An IFM, fed from one of the amplitude channels via an SPDT switch, performs 14 bits of frequency measurement on the selected input. Frequency resolution is nominally 1 MHz over a 2 to 18 GHz band.
