This extensometer is ideally suited for testing anisotropic materials such as advanced composites as well as for general purpose tests like determining Poisson’s ratio. The Model 3560BIA uses a design unique to Epsilon, where the knife edges remain parallel during the displacement. This approach greatly reduces crosstalk between axes and allows use on round or flat specimens with equal ease. These extensometers are very easy to mount. Integral springs hold the unit on the test sample. The parallel multiple flexure design makes these units very durable.The Model 3560AVG reads axial strain only as a single averaged output. It may also be supplied with two independent outputs, one measurement from each side of the specimen. This set-up is most commonly required when an indication of specimen bending is desired. The second version, the Model 3560BIA, includes both the averaged axial strain and the transverse strain. Again, this may also be configured as dual independent axial readings, which results in a three channel extensometer.The Model 3560 extensometers are strain gaged devices, making them compatible with any electronics designed for strain gaged transducers. Most often they are connected to a test machine controller. The signal conditioning electronics for the extensometer is typically included with the test machine controller or may often be added. In this case the extensometer is shipped with the proper connector and wiring to plug directly into the electronics. For systems lacking the required electronics, Epsilon can provide a variety of solutions, allowing the extensometer output to be connected to data acquisition boards, chart recorders or other equipment.

The PXIe-1486 combines the Texas Instruments Flat Panel Display Link™ (FPD-Link™) interface with the Xilinx FPGA for high-throughput vision and imaging applications. Additionally, the PXIe-1486 makes use of a combination of FPD-Link™ serializers and deserializers with a Xilinx FPGA to provide a high-throughput and customizable FPD-Link™ interface on PXI. The included FlexRIO driver, with LabVIEW FPGA examples, provides access and control for power-over-coax, I²C back-channel communication, and general-purpose input/output (GPIO) communication on the FPD-Link™ channels. Using a 1280 x 1024 InGaAs sensor from SCD, the OwL 1280 offers visible extension from 0.6µm to 1.7µm to enable high sensitivity imaging. The 10µm x 10µm pixel pitch enables the highest resolution imaging. It will offer less than 28 electrons readout noise (rms) and with a high intra-scene dynamic range of 51dB, this enables simultaneous capture of bright & dark portions of a scene. Available with a 12 bit medium Camera Link digital output, the Owl 1280 will run from 10 to 60Hz. The camera features an on-board Automated Gain Control (AGC) which enables the best contrast image from low to bright light. The camera also has an on-board intelligent 3 point Non Uniform Correction (NUC) providing the highest quality images. As with all Raptor cameras, the Owl 1280 is ultra compact and rugged. The camera sensor temperature is stabilised to 15°C and the camera does not have a fan.
