No complex assembly process is complete without the ability to inspect and characterize the many different components used. ficonTEC’s fully automated INSPECTIONLINE systems acquire high-resolution pictures of the surfaces of interest and performs optical inspection based on the user’s criteria. For example, facet inspection of laser diodes, QC for coatings, surface inspection, top/bottom/side-wall inspection of semiconductor chips, and die sorting are just some of the many inspection tasks performed routinely by ficonTEC’s suite of inspection tools. With over 100K Rittal brand components, Pixus has virtually unlimited configurations of chassis platforms for embedded computing. Typical plug-in modules are 3U or 6U with a 160mm depth. OpenVPX, CompactPCI Serial, CompactPCI, VME, and VME64x are open standard backplane architectures commonly used in 19" rack-mount Eurocard enclosure systems. (For OpenVPX products, see the Pixus OpenVPX section.) Enclosures are available to hold these boards in front-to-rear, bottom-to-top, and for 6U and 8U boards there is side-to-side cooling options. The chassis can come with or without integrated fan trays or with redundant push-pull cooling. EMC versions are also standard.
