Pulse Laser
Is a variable, pulsed high power laser source, a building block ideal for MOPA, LIDAR, OTDR laser systems development and applications. This fully integrated compact module contains a Distributed Feedback (DFB) laser and built-in optical amplifier stage, and a variable nanosecond pulse generation circuits. It provides up to 200 mW optical peak power in 1064 nm wavelength region, with a programmable pulse width from 10 ns to 1000 ns, and a selectable pulse repetition rate from 100 Hz to 1 MHz The optical pulse generation can alternatively be controlled via an external electrical trigger. The LDD100 employs a digitally programmable analogue end stage for flexible and accurate current control. Currents of up to 600A with pulse durations of 50ns to 3s are generated with rise and fall times of 70ns (F-version) or 600ns (XL-version) – essentially without overshoot. Due to the flexibility in setup and control, the LDD100 is practical for many laboratory applications. For automated measurements, the unit may be directly controlled via the USB interface. Alternatively, all parameters may be input via the graphical software or via the integrated keypad and OLED display.

Current Pulsers and Laser Diode Drivers (Pulsed Current)
These instruments generate current pulses whose amplitude is largely independent of the load voltage. This makes them ideal for pulsing device whose voltage may vary with time (for instance, the voltage drop of laser diodes may vary with temperature, or explosive squibs which change impedance during ignition). This voltage independence is a trade-off with speed. If faster rise times are required, consider using pulsed voltage instruments instead.

Single-Port Tunable Laser System Source

The Keysight N7711A and N7714A tunable lasers are single-port and four-port sources, available with C-band or L-band wavelength coverage. The narrow linewidth and offset grid fine-tuning capability make them ideal sources for realistic loading of the latest transmission systems. All models can reach any wavelength point within their specified wavelength range just like all other Keysight tunable lasers. In this mode, code compatibility with existing test setups based on Keysight's range of full-size and compact tunable lasers is a great asset. In system loading applications, it may be preferable to grid-tune the lasers like system transmitters, simply by changing the channel index. The channel grid is adjustable to standard ITU-T grid spacing like 50 GHz, and to arbitrary grids. Likewise, the zero frequency (base channel) of the chosen grid is adjustable. A 12 GHz fine-tuning range allows de-tuning the frequency.

LIV – High-power Laser Diode Testing
