Weather Radar Receiver
This is an example of a custom four-channel C-Band Receiver uses a single conversion technique to translate incoming 5.56 GHz radar signals to a 60 MHz IF. The Receiver is divided into two polarization sections, each with a dedicated channel for the received signal and a second channel for a reference signal originatingfrom the transmitter. There are two identical circuits in the Receiver, one reserved for vertically polarized signals, and the second for horizontal signals.

Collins Radar Fixture with Gyro Simulator

This weather radar test fixture is a combination of the established WXT-250 series fixture and the RDR-2000 and RDR-2100 radars so that a single panel will provide many features that are still required today. The gyro simulator built into the panel is usable for either radar being tested and eliminate's plugging in any external simulator. The features for both product lines as shown in their respecting CMM's are provided on the panel so that full testing and alignment of these radars and their system components can be tested and/or evaluated. Multichannel Memory-Mapped ARINC 708/453 Interface Card
EXC-708mPCIe
The EXC-708mPCIe is a multichannel, memory-mapped ARINC 708/453 interface card that supports two ARINC 708/453 channels, each programmable as transmit or receive. Each channel implements a 64K x 16 FIFO and supports polling and/or interrupt driven operation. The card complies with the PCI ExpressTM Mini Card standard. It’s small size and suitability for Mini Card compatible computers make it a complete solution for developing, testing, integrating 708 interfaces and for performing system simulation of the ARINC 708/453 Weather Radar Display databuses, both in the lab and in the field. In Transmit mode, each ARINC 708 word is written to the FIFO as a block of 100 16-bit words. In Receive mode, each ARINC 708 word is stored in the FIFO as a block of 103 16-bit words. The first two words comprise the 32-bit Time Tag, indicating the word’s time stamp. The next 100 words comprise the 1600 bits of the ARINC 708 word, which are followed by the Status Word.The EXC-708mPCIe card comes complete with C drivers including source code.

Each RP-708 channel can be configured as two transmit channels, two receive channels, or one transmit channel and one receive channel simultaneously.

The M8K708 module is an ARINC-708 / 453 2-channel test and simulation module for the Weather Radar Display Databus. The M8K708 supports two ARINC-708 / 453 channels, each selectable as transmit or receive. Each channel implements an 64K×16 FIFO and supports polling and/or interrupt driven operation.The M8K708 comes complete with Windows software, a C-driver software library including source code and may be used with Exalt, Excalibur’s Analysis and Laboratory Tools, a Windows monitoring application. In addition, Excalibur produces adapter cables that convert the carrier board I/O Molex™ connector to two twinax CJ70-49 connectors. The cable may be purchased at an additional cost.

The TA-3C test fixture is a combination of the KMD540 testing requirements and the RDR-2000/2100 weather radar interface requirements. This panel allows the technician to test the KMD540 MFD as a stand alone item (with external simulators) or together with a radar sensor for a dynamic real time test. The panel includes the required switching for sensor alignment and KMD testing along with input jacks for the required data inputs. Also built into the fixture is an analog gyro simulator for checking the stabilization functions of the sensor. The full enclosure comes in standard panel width.
