Optical Channel Monitor
Optoplex Optical channel monitor (OCM) uses proprietary thin-film interference filter technology combined with a micro-actuator and high-speed electronics. Optical channel monitor is used to measure critical information data on optical transmission signals in DWDM networks for monitoring signal dynamics, determining system functionality, identifying performance change, and providing feedback for controling network elements so as to optimize operational performance. In particular, Optoplex Optical channel monitor can automatically scan the C-, L- or C+L-band wavelength range and precisely measure channel wavelength, power, and optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR). These interferometers are driven by our own PZ1 Low-profile Fiber Stretcher with enhanced modulation, through a front panel BNC connector. Michelson and Mach-Zehnder interferometers are available in wavelengths from 1064 to 1550 nm. Each interferometer has a “zero meter” path mismatch which provides flexibility to change the delay length to match varying test applications. The standard length shipped is 50 meters. The Eye-BERT Micro is a low cost, easy to use, all-in-one SFP based fiber optic test solution offering high performance bit error rate testing at a fraction of the cost while providing a rich set of features not found in other bit error rate testers. Features include: variable bit rate, user programmable patterns, and optical power and temperature monitoring (per SFP capability). Additionally, with a click of a button, the Eye-BERT Micro will automatically test an SFP module based on the information it reads from the module and generate a detailed test report complete with manufacturer, part number, serial number, date code, fiber type, link length, speed, and test results. Absolute Optical Inclinometer
A2T
The A2T is a single axis, digital gravity angle sensor. The A2T serves as a full 360 range absolute tilt sensing programmable level with either digital or analog output. Internally, a rotary bar coded disk is mounted to a weighted gravity driven wheel. A micro-controller strobes an LED to transfer the bar code image onto an optical linear array, then decodes the position every 2 mSec. Magnetic damping provides fast response and settling time while virtually eliminating overshoot and oscillations. An internal EEPROM stores field programmable parameters such as resolution, zero position, direction swap, and mode. This second generation design virtually eliminates the primary accuracy limitation of first generation inclinometers, which is sitation (hysteresis).
