Silver Ball Matrix Sockets
SM Contact is a unique contact that has precise silver balls held together by a proprietary conductive formulation. These conductive columns (diameter optimized for 50 ohm impedance) are suspended in a non-conductive flexible elastomer substrate with a patented solid core for enhanced durability and reliable performance over time, temperature and cycles. This flexible substrate is very compliant and resilient and enables the conductive columns to revert back to original shape when the force is removed. Solutions are available for 0.25mm to 1.27mm LGA, BGA, QFN, CSP, POP, WLP and other packages. The silver ball matrix contact technology is also available with a protective plunger matrix (a gold plated copper cylinder) that sits on top of the conductive columns. This plunger matrix protects the conductive column from contamination from various solder ball interfaces. A quickly replaceable plunger matrix enables minimal downtime during final production test. The product family code for this line of sockets is SMP.

Ka-Band Silicon SATCOM Tx Quad Core IC
AWMF-0109
The AWMF-0109 is a highly integrated silicon quad core chip intended for satellite communications transmit applications. The device supports four dual polarization radiating elements with full programmable polarization flexibility. The device provides 22 dB of gain per channel with an output power of +12 dBm per element per polarization. Additional features include gain compensation over temperature, temperature reporting, and Tx output power telemetry. The chip features ESD protection on all pins, operates from a +1.8 V supply, and is packaged in a 48 lead 6x6 mm QFN for easy installation in planar phased array antennas.

FTTx Amplifiers

MACOM’s FTTx amplifiers are designed for PON, RFoG and SFU receiver equipment and are offered in small, plastic QFN packages with integrated amplifier and attenuator functions. All parts cover the full 45 to 1000MHz / 1200MHz CATV band. 5v and 12v solutions are offered with power consumption of ≤ 1.5Watts. MACOM’s FTTx amplifiers are characterized with industry standard photodiodes, covering optical input ranges from -12 to +3dBm and each sample EVK comes complete with a photodiode and APC connector.
