EDFA Amplifier
A line of Gain Flattening Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifiers are designed for in-line amplification of DWDM networks. When a standard EDFA is used to amplify multi-channel DWDM signals, the output power level of various channels will vary according to the gain profile of the erbium fiber. This gain variation can be as great as 6 dB in magnitude. Composite 1×6 Video Distribution Amplifier

Video Distribution Amplifiers (sometimes called a video splitter – not to be confused with a video split screen controller such as our PXD510E split screen controller) are typically used for connecting a camera or other video source to several monitors that do not have “looping” inputs. In this situation, each monitor has a permanent 75 ohm termination. With two non-looping monitors connected together, the line would be double loaded and result in a dim picture on each monitor. Using a Video Distribution Amplifier will solve this problem by driving each monitor individually at 100%.
