Each absorber, or brake, can hold up to 600-hp (total power of 1,800-hp) more than enough to simulate a fully loaded transit bus. As the systems PAU''s (brakes) are air-cooled, no water is required to or from the device eliminating the high cost of water consumption and/or the cost of an expensive water recovery system which can sometimes exceed the cost of the dynamometer system itself. The chassis provides precise, synchronized timing over the network using TSN, ideal for highly distributed measurements over long distances. The chassis has an integrated network switch for simple daisy-chaining. The chassis also has four 32-bit general-purpose counters/timers, accessible through a hardware-timed digital C Series module for applications that involve quadrature encoders, PWM, pulse train generation, and more.

The VadaTech UTC003 is the most feature-rich MCH (MicroTCA Carrier Hub) for the Conduction Cooled μTCA chassis in the market. It’s management software is based on VadaTech’s proven Carrier Manager and Shelf Manager. The MCMC manages the power modules, the two CU (Cooling Units) and up to 12 AMCs within the μTCA chassis. It also interfaces to and manages the on-board fabric interfaces. The module is available with PCIe, SRIO, 10GbE Layer 3 managed, and GbE Layer 2 managed. The UTC003 runs Linux 2.6 on it’s MCMC CPU and is hot-swappable and fully redundant when used in conjunction with a second instance of the module. The fin design and wall thickness was designed and analyzed with Flowmetrics software and designed for minimum delta T offset in an average thermal load application.
