Traditionally, SMD inductor evaluation up to 3 GHz has been difficult to implement - now with the 16196 series, it’s easy to perform accurate and repeatable measurements.

Dielectric Material Test Fixture

The 16453A is designed for accurate dielectric constant and loss tangent measurements on the E4991A/4291A/B. It employs the parallel plate method, which sandwiches the material between two electrodes to form a capacitor. The E4991A/4291A/B measures the capacitance created from the fixure, and option 002 firmware calculates the relative complex permittivity as described in the 16451B. Adjustment to insure parallel electrodes is required when using the 16451B. This adjustment is not required with the 16453A because the fixure has a flexible electrode that adjusts automatically to the material surface.

Wireless Functional Test Fixtures
Circuit Check’s wireless fixture technologies reduce debug time, simplify ECO’s and reduce maintenance. This allows for the highest test performance, ability to probe denser smaller targets and achieve ultra-high node counts. Higher density more complex circuit boards complicate testing requirements. Smaller more tightly spaced test pads create a wiring challenge for the fixture fabricators, test engineers and maintenance personnel. Wireless fixtures solve the challenges associated with the nest of wires found in long wire fixtures. Wireless fixtures replace the “nest” of wires with copper traces on a multilayered printed circuit board called a Translator Board (T-Board).

Magnetic Material Test Fixture

The 16454A is designed for accurate permeability measurements of toroidal-shaped magnetic materials. Since the construction of this fixture creates one turn around the toroid (with no magnetic flux leakage), the need of winding a wire around the toroid is unnecessary. Complex permeability is calculated from the inductance with and without the toroid. When the E4991A/4291B with option 002 is used as the measurement instrument, direct readouts of complex permeability are possible. Corelis can provide you with design consultation and an analysis of your design for boundary-scan testability. We will review your design and make specific recommendations that if implemented will improve the testability. We can also suggest improvements that will increase test coverage and allow boundary-scan to be implemented in a more cost-effective manner.This service also includes a DFT test coverage analysis that we recommend to do after schematic capture and before PCB layout. At this stage of product development, Corelis provides you with a comprehensive test coverage reports that identifies all of the boundary-scan nets and pins and classifies them as completely tested, partially tested, or not tested. The report also recommends where to add test points (pads) for physical “nails” access if additional test coverage is required.
