Frequency Response Analyzers
Frequency Response Analysis (also referred to as Transfer Function Analysis) measures the output spectrum of a system relative to a stimulus, and is used to characterize the dynamics of the system under test. The technique measures the magnitude and phase relationship between output and input waveforms as a function of frequency. The input signals may be from a wide range of sensors including acoustic (microphones/sonar), mechanical (accelerometers/displacement transducers), optical (photodetectors), and electrical (amplifiers).

85024A high-frequency probe makes it easy to perform in-circuit measurements. An input capacitance of only 0.7 pF shunted by 1 megohm of resistance permits high frequency probing without adversely loading the circuit under test. The injection transformer is presently the prevalent method for connecting the network analyzer to the circuit being tested, and is primarily used for control loop stability measurements. The goal of the transformer is to inject a signal into the control loop being measured, without impacting the performance of the loop.
