Analog Devices provides designers with a robust portfolio of high speed triple, differential, and single-ended input to differential output CAT-5 video drivers. We designed the technology for the highest resolution component video signals, but it can be used for any type of analog signals or high speed data transmission over either Category 5 UTP cable or differential printed circuit board (PCB) transmission lines. Manufactured with our second generation XFCB bipolar process, the drivers have large signal bandwidths of 700 MHz, fast slew rate, and output amplitude and phase matching balanced to –60 dB at 50 MHz.

The information received from the camera and the recording device is transmitted to a server built on the basis of an industrial computer, which writes data to an external 12-disk RAID array. Video Distribution Amplifiers (sometimes called a video splitter – not to be confused with a video split screen controller such as our PXD510E split screen controller) are typically used for connecting a camera or other video source to several monitors that do not have “looping” inputs. In this situation, each monitor has a permanent 75 ohm termination. With two non-looping monitors connected together, the line would be double loaded and result in a dim picture on each monitor. Using a Video Distribution Amplifier will solve this problem by driving each monitor individually at 100%.The second application is when the video signal is run over distances greater than 50 feet. The coaxial cable has a fair amount of signal loss over long distances. When multiple monitors are connected after long runs of coax, the degradation can be severe, especially when dealing with modern, high bandwidth signals that have 500+ lines of resolution.The VDA403 is a Video Distribution Amplifier designed for professional applications. It will operate with NTSC & PAL video signals as well as many common Black & White signals. These units use the latest integrated amplifier technology for superior performance and reliability. Custom units or modifications can be manufactured at a reasonable cost.
