Neutron Detectors
As a neutron has no charge, a neutron detector incorporates a neutron-to-ionisation particle converter.The incident neutrons are captured by the converter material which then produces (detectable) ionising particles by means of a nuclear reaction.Photonis gas-filled detectors are designed to detect thermal neutrons (En < 0.025 eV), so the capture cross-section of the detecting material must be as large as possible for this low energy. We therefore use 235U (580 barn at 20 °C) for our fission chambers, and 10B (3840 barn at 20 °C) for our boron-lined proportional counters.

The Virtual Stations can be assigned to communicate to a particular AccessPoint, use a particular SSID, and have a WEP (64 or 128bit) or WPA/WPA2 key assigned. There is a single WiFi radio per CT520 but multiple LANforgesystems can be clustered together for more realistic radio interference patterns and increased trafficgeneration capability. The JSC-88AW is a very reliable way to know for sure whether or not there is voltage downstream from the switches or breakers during power-offs. It dramatically increases the safety of personnel assigned to maintenance work on electrical equipment powered by three-phase voltage. As long as voltage is present downstream of the breakers, one or more (LEDs) of the JSC-88AW will stay lit. All DGi-TT7 are constructed from a common housing and electronics with the detection properties being determined by the type of sensor (cartridge) used. A wide range of cells are available, these cells are intrisically safe protected, and may be replaced with the detector powered which minimises the system down time. The intelligent, microprocessor driven unit is fully configurable using a wireless hand-held terminal (TLU) or by using the hard wired HART option giving true flexibility to the installer and reduced service costs.Elements such as relay operation and alarm levels are all set via the TLU, a hazardous area approved hand-held unit.
