NASA Battery Simulation System
DMC leveraged our established Battery Management System (BMS) Testing Platform to deliver an automated Battery Simulator System to a NASA research group. NASA needed this system to facilitate development of highly specialized battery devices. These battery systems were designed to provide mobile power for advanced electromechanical systems such as Robonaut 2, a dexterous humanoid robot created to perform a wide range of tasks to assist astronauts on the International Space Station.

Ear Simulator

The BO1028 Ear Simulator is a special coupler for microspeakers or earbuds that has been designed to be compliant with ATU-T P.57 and IEC 60318-1. While mics in our BP1090 couplers receive sound waves the way they travel through air, the dual compartment chamber of the BO1028 is designed to modify sound pressure so that the mic receives air vibrations the way a human ear drum would receive them.

Farran’s 77 GHz FMCW Radar front end is based on a GaAs MMIC chipset offering wide bandwidth in a small outline package.The transmit signal is derived from an external VCO signal, internally multiplied, which also acts as the LO for the receive mixer. The resulting IF is conditioned for gain and filtering as required. The IF also contains an industry leading IF noise figure, especially in the frequency range below 500MHz.
