CPCI-AD16
Data Acquisition Module
The CPCI-AD16 module provides a 3U high performance data acquisition subsystem. The Local DSP can be used to simply move data samples to the CPCI bus or can provide processing functions such as limit checking, FFT’s, digitalfiltering, etc. Application software can be downloaded to the DSP via the CPCI interface. Instrumentation amplifiers provide over-voltage protection, gain and filtering on a per channel basis. Internal scan and trigger clocks are derived from either the CPCI bus clock or the local DSP clock. Dual 32 bit timers can programmed to pace the acquisition process. The CPCI-AD16 can also accept external scan and trigger signals from a front panel connector.

The devices are divided into 2 kinds: normal gain version and high gain version. Both versions provide 4 programmable input ranges for bipolar and unipolar inputs. The A/D on the PCI-9114DG device features a sampling rate of 100 kS/s with resolution at 16 bits, while PCI-9114A-DG/HG device features a sampling rate of up to 250kS/s with resolution at 16 bits. The device supports automatic analog input scanning, and offers a differential mode for 8-CH analog inputs and maximum noise elimination, as well as single-ended modes for 16- CH analog inputs. A 6-pin Mil-Spec circular connector on the front panel of the 4314AF replaces the four-terminal banana jacks and the battery charger jack. Four of the front panel connector pins are used to mate with the measurement adapter cable and the other two pins are for the battery charging cable adapter. By using separate adapter cables for measurements and charging of the batteries, it ensures that the charge circuit cannot be activated at the same time as measurements are being made.
