When a high current passes through a pair of mechanically independent metallic contacts, the resistance must be as low as possible. An increase in resistance can lead to additional degradation, as I2R losses will cause local heating of the contact surfaces. XP Power today announced the DPC series of highly efficient ultra slim DIN rail AC-DC power supplies. Available in 30, 50 and 70 Watt single output models, they all accept the universal input range from 90 to 264 VAC without the need for any input selector switches. Taking up significantly less space on the rail by being up to 44% slimmer than current generation DIN rail power supplies, the 30 Watt DPC30 measures just 90.0 x 100.0 x 22.5 mm (3.6 x 3.94 x 0.89 inches). Also, the 50 Watt DPC50 measures 90.0 x 100.0 x 30.0 mm (3.6 x 3.94 x 1.18 inches) and the 70 Watt DPC70 measures only 90.0 x 100.0 x 40.5 mm (3.6 x 3.95 x 1.59 inches). Offering all the popular nominal output voltages from + 5 to + 48 VDC, the single output can be adjusted up to + 30% of stated nominal, model dependant, in order to accommodate non-standard voltage requirements or to make up for line losses. All models feature a green LED to indicate output on.

Columbia's SI-701 Series of Inclinometers are electronic tilt sensors based on Force Balance Accelerometer technology. They produce high level low impedance output proportional to the sine of the tilt angle. Model SI-701B is a low cost general purpose sensor that can be up-graded with the addition of the Columbia "HP" torquer system (SI-701BI) for greater accuracy and ruggedness. A bi-axial version of both units (SI-702B) is also available. The Model SI-701BI is designed with an output circuit made for 4-20mA data transmission systems for industrial applications. The model SI-701FND is a fluid dampened premium performance inclinometer designed to produce accurate tilt data in extreme shock and vibration environments. The latest addition in the line is Model SI-701WPBI, a waterproof (to 150 feet) inclinometer which operates from a +15 volt supply with 4-20mA output. A single power supply powers both the sensor and the 4-20mA line driver.
