SP5T RF Pin Diode Switches To 12 GHz

Pulsar Microwave's 5-way RF switches cover bands from 300 MHz to 12 GHz in both absorptive and reflective configuration. These SP5T switches have a rating of 200 mW maximum input power and a switching time of 100 ns. They are specified with a minimum isolation of 60 dB and most models maintain a VSWR of 1.6:1 or better on all ports. The SP5T switches are driven by TTL logic control circuitry and require both positive and negative 5-volt supplies for operation. A 9-pin D-SUB connector provides the interface for the power and logic voltages.

Fairview Microwave’s line of coaxial RF probes and RF PCB probe positioner are ideal for use with chip evaluations, signal integrity measurements, coplanar waveguide, substrate characterization, gigabit SERDES and test fixture applications. The RF coaxial probes provide return loss better than 10 dB and a maximum operating frequency of 20 GHz. The probes have a 3.5mm female interface, a pitch of 800 or 1500 micron and they can be cable-mounted. They feature gold-plated contacts and can be used by hand, with or without a probe positioner. Compliant coaxial GSG (or GS) pogo pins allow for a broad range of probing angles. The RF PCB probe positioner can hold coaxial probes, has articulated joints and delivers multi-axis positioner control. QPER-C2X is a special adaptation of the signal strength emulator QPER, designed for mobile and Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (MANet and VANet). Every radio devices in such an infrastructure-less network acts as a sender, receiver, and forwarder (router). Therefore, the ports of the QPER-C2X hardware are fully connected with each other by dynamically controllable attenuators. The system is fully designed for frequencies up to 6 GHz, since wireless communication for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) is based on the WLAN standard IEE 802.11p from 5.850 MHz to 5.925 MHz. The connected ITS stations can be either on-board units, as they are built into cars, or road side units that are used by road infrastructure (traffic lights, road work area delimiters, velocity signs). For tests in the lab, radio modules of such ITS stations are each kept in a shielding box that prevents any unwanted radiation over the air.

The new design of these transition time converters ensures very low signal reflection far beyond the 3 dB point, unlike conventional converters. Reducing the signal transition-times also increases the overall pulse-performance for overshoot/reflection sensitive applications. The converters are fitted with SMA connectors, one male, one female. These converters have been designed to convert the fixed transition-times of the Keysight 8133A 3 GHz timing generator (<100 ps transitions) to slower, fixed transition-times (150 ps, 250 ps, 500 ps, 1 ns, 2 ns) hence reducing the signal bandwidth. All transition-times are from 10% to 90% of amplitude.
