Lince6M5 is a single chip, fully digital, high speed CMOS active pixel sensor which is designed for maximum flexibility. It has excellent performance in a large variety of applications, ranging from low noise, high dynamic range surveillance, to high speed slow motion analysis, including high resolution machine vision applications. Lince6M5 incorporates a high speed 6.5MP CMOS active pixel image sensor providing both global and rolling electronic shutter, as well as High Dynamic Range (HDR) features. The sensor array utilizes active CMOS pixels with pinned photodiodes to deliver high image quality whilst maintaining the size, cost, and integration advantage of the CMOS technology.

Strain Sensors

Conventional strain sensors are based on strain gage technology. In order to effectively measure the strain values in a force or load measurement application, a full, 4 element strain gage bridge circuit is utilized. The configuration is known as a Wheatstone Bridge Circuit. A Wheatstone Bridge has a very linear output in it’s midrange. That being considered +100% to -100% of range. Unfortunately, a Wheatstone Bridge becomes non-linear above the upper and lower extremes of range. Therefore, significant errors can result above the end points when attempting to take precision measurements. It is particularly important to take accurate measurements in some R&D or control applications. To avoid the mentioned error issues, PCB manufactures quartz piezoelectric strain sensors that output the same mV/microstrain sensitivity throughout the entire useful range. Thus, accuracy is improved and control requirements are enhanced that may occur at positive extremes of the measurement range. The models RHM240 and model 740B02 series sensors are the strain sensors for these applications.

IR FPA sensors are the most important modules of thermal imagers. Design of sensor electronics (camera core) is a crucial part of designing of new thermal imager. Knowledge of precise parameters of IR FPA sensor is needed by both professionals involved in both IR FPA technology/thermal imagers technology because parameters of IR FPA sensors determine performance limits of thermal imagers. Therefore test equipment that enable measurement of IR FPA sensors is a vital tool for development of both IR FPA technology/thermal imagers technology. It is commonly known that data sheets provided by manufacturers of IR FPA sensors (both cooled or non-cooled) provide too little details for electronics designers. Sometimes the provided data is not accurate enough and better sensor performance can be achieved using modified control signals. Therefore design teams loose sometimes years to develop electronic camera core optimized for a specific IR FPA sensor. When the type of the IR FPA sensor is changed the whole process is to be repeated. In this situation an universal, flexible camera core that would accept IR FPA sensors from different manufacturers and to carry out semi-automatic determination of optimal signal controls for a specific IR FPA sensor would be highly desirable.
