Equipped with a photodiode, it provides light meters with high performance of precision and sensitivity, which have a rapid and stable response speed to accurately measure light levels such as fluorescent lamps, metal halides, high-pressure sodium, and incandescent light sources. Through the color correction filter and cosine angle correction by following the C.I.E. spectrum, the light meter calculates the LED light and reads the result quickly. The handheld, lightweight, and independent light sensor design makes the light meter easily carried to any workplace to take the measurement at the best position. Built for high intensity applications the NEW OAI Model 308T UV Light Meter is a dependable, direct-reading instrument designed for measuring UV light intensity for UV curing. The Model 308T features detachable probes for use in the UVA, UVB and UVC ranges, plus a high speed serial port. Accuracy of the meter is within ±3%and measurement repeatability is within ±3 LSB (least significant bit). Like all OAI precision instruments, the Model 308T provides NIST traceable measurements. This easy-to-use meter is auto-ranging from 0.1 to 1999.9 milliwatts/cm2 full scale when used with the 2000 milliwatts/ cm2 probe. The linearity of the meter in this range is at least ±(.002% + 6 LSB).

However, there very few calibrated light sources of precisely known parameters. LilyPad Light Sensor

The LilyPad Light Sensor is a sewable breakout board with an ALS-PT19 light sensor built in and ready to use right away. Each sensor outputs voltage between 0V and 3.3V depending on the level of ambient light shining on it. As more light is applied on the sensor, more current will flow from the board through the signal tab to the microcontroller you connect the sensor to. If the sensor receives no light, no current will flow through it. In a typical indoor lighting situation, the sensor will output around 1 to 2V. Adding this board into your next e-textile or wearable project will really open up the possibilities by being able to incorporate light level sensing capabilities.
