BK MIKRO BKM91, BKM91D, BKM91PN and BKM92KIO controllers utilize the premium version of firmware which allows for multiple tools or functions to be programmed. These controllers are typically used when advanced features are required such as checking for broken tool inside of a CNC tool changer or checking multiple object or free space positions.

Clockwise and/or counter-clockwise rotation of the wand is programmable allowing an optimum adaptation to the machine.The scanning intensity is adjustable in 8 steps. Even rotating drills with small diameters can be checked.The scanning results are display as "OK" or "KO" and signalled by LEDs on the front side of the device.The PROFIBUS is a standard Sub-D 9 pin connection; the USB connection is a USB-mini plug / type B and meets the 2.0 specification.Three digital inputs serve to activate the functions "Teach-in" to learn the position to be scanned, "Start" to initialize the scanning process and "Configurable" for receiving a stop command.Two digital outputs provide the signals for the message "OK" or "KO".The relay contacts are configurable as N/C or N/O connections. TK94A/TK94RL
The two scanner variations of the type TK94 have similar features. The difference is that variation "A" is used for checking single positions or free space while the version "RL" rotates in both directions without stopping to check for two tools. These scanners are best suited for harsh environments and have a built-in air purge with a strong/fast motor. This scanner would be used in applications that previously used the BK Mikro model 4 or 5 scanners such as lathes, transfer machines or in the work envelope of machining centers.

TK8A
BK Mikro TK8A is a scanner designed mainly for broken tool detection inside the tool changer of machining centers adding little or no additional cycle time. The controller stores up to 512 different tool lengths in memory and is controlled using 24vdc M-Code/Macro I/O combinations, Profibus, Profinet or DeviceNet. The system can check tools whose lengths vary as much as 15 inches from the shortest to longest in the changer. Each of the 512 different tools can have individual tolerance ranges set varying between 0.15 and 25.4 degrees

BK Mikro TK91A is a scanner designed mainly for broken tool detection inside the tool changer of machining centers adding little or no additional cycle time. The controller stores up to 512 different tool lengths in memory and is controlled using M-Code combinations, a custom Macro or Profibus. The system can check tools whose lengths vary as much as 22 inches from the shortest to longest in the changer. Each of the 512 different tools can have individual tolerance ranges set varying between 0.05 and 25.4 degrees. This equates to as little as a 0.38mm difference in tool length variation that can be detected using a 500mm long wand.
