Surface Temperature Sensors
Campbell Scientific offers two types of surface temperature sensors: infrared temperature (non-contact) and surface contact. Infrared temperature sensors measure the surface temperature of an object or surface by sensing the infrared radiation given off by the subject. Surface contact sensors attach directly to a surface and measure the temperature via physical contact.

pH Sensors
Campbell Scientific pH sensors measure the level of pH in sample solutions by measuring the activity of the hydrogen ions in the solutions. This activity is compared to pure water (a neutral solution) using a pH scale of 0 to 14 to determine the acidity or alkalinity of the sample solutions.

Satellite Communications
Satellite telemetry offers a communication alternative for remote locations where phone lines or radio frequency systems are an impractical choice. Using satellite telemetry, communication is achieved by interfacing a data logger to a satellite transmitter, which in turn transmits the data from the field site to a receiving station.

Dataloggers
CR800-Series
CR800-series dataloggers are smaller and designed for applications in which fewer sensors are measured. These dataloggers differ in their keyboard display, as one model offers an external keyboard display, and the other model includes an on-board keyboard display. Multiple CR800-series dataloggers can be configured as a network, or they can be deployed individually.

Serial Communications
Data cables are used to physically connect two devices so that data can be transmitted between them. For example, a data cable may be used to connect a data logger to a communication peripheral, a data logger to a computer, a computer to a communication peripheral, or one communication peripheral to another.

Sensors
Campbell Scientific sensors measure a broad array of parameters for environmental, water resource, research, and industrial applications. The sensors output electrical signals, which are transmitted to data loggers. In addition to our extensive line of sensors, almost any commercially available sensor can be measured by our data acquisition systems.

Air Temperature and Relative Humidity Sensors
Air temperature and relative humidity probes typically consist of two separate sensors packaged in the same housing. Often relative humidity is measured with a capacitive RH sensor, while air temperature is measured by a PRT.

Vibrating Wire Peripherals
Many Campbell Scientific vibrating-wire peripherals enable dataloggers to read vibrating-wire sensors (also known as vibrating-wire or vibrating-strip transducers). These sensors measure strain, load, pressure, and water level, and they output a frequency signal generated by a vibrating filament. Campbell Scientific also offers vibrating-wire dataloggers that read the sensors directly.

Current Shunt Module
CURS100
The CURS100 converts a current signal output by a sensor or output device (e.g., 4 to 20 mA) to a voltage that can be measured by a datalogger. The 100 ohm resistor used for the current shunt allows currents up to 25 mA to be read on a 2500 mV range (CR10, CR10X, CR510, CR500) and currents up to 50 mA to be read on a 5000 mV range (CR23X, 21X, CR7, CR5000, CR9000, CR9000X).

Communication Devices
Communication devices store and retrieve data acquired by data acquisition systems. These devices facilitate the accessibility, analysis, sharing, and reporting of data. Our available communication devices include both on-site and telemetry peripherals, which can be used in the same application for maximum flexibility, convenience, and reliability.

Present Weather Sensors
Present weather sensors use a laser-based technology to measure the size and velocity of water droplets in the air to determine visibility, measure precipitation rate, and identify precipitation type (for example, drizzle, rain, snow, and hail). These sensors are often incorporated in automatic weather stations for road, marine, and airport applications.

Distributed Data Acquisition
Distributed Data Acquisition seamlessly networks all the components of your integrated monitoring system. The resulting synchronization decreases the quantity and lengths of communications wires between sensors and the data-acquisition system (DAQ).

Dissolved Oxygen Sensor
Dissolved oxygen sensors measure the amount of oxygen present in a medium, typically water. The sensors generate signals proportional to the amount of oxygen present, which are then transmitted to dataloggers. Dissolved oxygen is a critical parameter in many aquacultural applications, playing a key role in determining when aerators should be started.

Spread-Spectrum Radios
Spread-spectrum radios are very popular for creating wireless communication links to and between data loggers. These low-cost devices provide robust links ranging in speeds from 10 to 200 kbps and distances of 3 to 50 miles, depending on the radio model and operating conditions. These radios consume little power and are easy to install and maintain, as they have been designed for low-power, non-licensed operation.

Water Conductivity and Temperature Probe
CS547A-L
The CS547A is a water quality probe that measures both electrical conductivity (EC) and temperature. It connects to a Campbell Scientific datalogger via the A547 interface. This probe is compatible with most Campbell Scientific dataloggers.
