The DCHT portable digital stereo transmitter is designed for use in film and TV production as both a wireless audio link from a bag or cart system to cameras and as a portable IFB transmitter paired with the Duet digital wireless M2R receiver packs. The DCHT accepts two channels of mic or line level analog signals or an AES digital signal from a mixer and transmits to the receiver or receivers in a purely digital format. The digital architecture of the new DCHT is a third-generation design with specially developed, high-efficiency circuitry for extended operating time on two AA batteries.

The input section features the unique servo bias input circuitry with a standard TA5M type jack for use with electret lavaliere mics, dynamic mics, or line level signals. A DSP-controlled analog audio limiter is employed before the A-D converter. The limiter has a range of more than 30 dB for excellent overload protection and a dual release envelope that makes the limiter acoustically transparent while maintaining low distortion. The limiter recovers quickly from brief transients, with no audible side effects, and also recovers slowly from sustained high levels to keep audio distortion low while preserving short term dynamics.

The ALP690 is a high-performance LPDA (log periodic dipole array) antenna with a bypassable, built-in RF amplifier for use with wireless microphone receivers in location or studio production. The design delivers +4 dBd of passive gain in a directional pattern to extend operating range, and, when DC power is applied, the amplifier applies gain to overcome loss in long coaxial cable runs. By offering both active and passive operation modes, the ALP690 can be used as a receiver antenna (active or passive) and as a transmitter antenna (passive only).

Analog inputs are converted to digital and appear on the network as transmit channels. Audio for the analog outputs is taken from subscriptions to transmit channels on the network from other sources. Each module supports up to 3072 tunable frequencies across a 75 MHz range (three standard Lectrosonics blocks), matching the tuning ranges of SSM, LT and LMb "large bandwidth" transmitters. VRT2 modules incorporate Lectrosonics’ new IQ dynamic tracking filters, which accommodate a wide range of transmitter RF power levels while also enabling extremely tight channel spacing—critical features as the available RF spectrum continues to shrink.
