Adcole LLC
Adcole metrology gages are precision-engineered instruments designed to ensure the dimensional accuracy and geometric integrity of shafts and other rotational components. These gages deliver high-resolution measurements across a broad spectrum of GD&T parameters, including form, orientation, location, and runout tolerances. Manufacturers rely on Adcole systems to quantify critical features such as roundness, straightness, angularity, parallelism, and profile with sub-micron precision. In addition to standard dimensional checks, the gages support advanced diagnostics—measuring chatter, lobe lift error, surface finish, and center deviation—enabling root cause analysis and process optimization in tight tolerance manufacturing environments. Adcole Cylindrical Coordinate Measurement Machines (CCMMs) are engineered to deliver industry-leading accuracy across a wide range of sectors—including automotive (EV and ICE), aerospace, marine, robotics, mining, heavy diesel, and trucking. Our product catalog includes high-precision, customizable tactile gages for both in-line inspection and audit sampling, as well as advanced optical measurement systems—all integrated with powerful software to provide actionable data for improving shaft quality.

Surface Roughness Gage
1000
-
The Adcole Model 1000 represents the state of the art in surface roughness measurement for crankshafts, camshafts and other cylindrical components. The machine is pre-programmed for optimized workflows. Operators simply need to load and unload the parts. In addition to its unprecedented accuracy, this product is also the fastest system for taking critical surface measurements. The base gage is a rugged, self-standing horizontal granite surface plate with affixed headstock, tailstock and carriage. Scanned data is immediately available for review on the touchscreen monitor or printing.

Flexible Vertical Gage
911
-
The world standard for camshaft measuring, the Adcole Model 911 is ideal for measuring pistons, pump rotors/housings, transmission shafts and any other cylindrical component. Measurement results are displayed on a touchscreen monitor and can be printed/plotted or simply uploaded electronically for historical tracking. Vertical part orientation does away with the need for sag correction, while also minimizing the gage’s footprint on the shop floor. The adjustable tailstock accommodates multiple part lengths. Parts are rotated for a full 360-degree analysis of each feature.

Ultimate Shaft Measuring Gage with Laser Interferometer
1200LX
-
The Adcole Model 1200-LX is a high-speed, high-precision gage designed to measure crankshafts, camshafts, pistons, and other cylindrical components in demanding production environments. Simple to operate, with comprehensive, easy-to-understand pass/fail output reports, the Model 1200-LX is vital for verifying part tolerances, minimizing scrap, flagging potential quality issues, qualifying grinders and machining tools, and helping to eliminate quality breaches.

Optical Tactile Surface Finish
1000Z
-
The Adcole Model 1000-Z features both optical and tactile measuring heads to deliver high precision surface measurements of camshafts, crankshafts and turned parts. The non-contact interferometric probe greatly expands on the measurement capabilities from the diamond tipped contact probe of the standard Adcole 1000 gage, as the optical accessory can precisely measure surface finish of cam track groove sidewalls, cam track bottom grooves and more. Profilometers such as the 1000-Z quantify surface roughness and are relied on to maintain quality and identify potential problems in the manufacturing and coating process.

Horizontal High-Speed Multi-Head Gage
1304/1306:
-
The Adcole Model 1304/1306 four-headed gage offers three different horizontal load options for increased throughput. The Model 1304/1306 can switch between multiple part types at the touch of a button. An automated version, ready for load by gantry or robot, is also available available. The flexibility and versatility of this gaging system is comparable to a single-headed gage, but this gage completes part inspection in a fraction of the time. Despite the tremendous gains in cycle time, there is no sacrifice in accuracy or capability. Changing between part types is remarkably simple; tailstock adjustments are fast and easy. With the user-friendly Windows platform, programming and output report formatting is flexible and straightforward. Similar to other Adcole gage models, reporting can provide actual measured dimensions and tolerance deviations for easy interpretation.
