Decade Boxes
-
Transcat stocks the decade boxes for your precision measurement applications. Using a series of resistors, capacitors or inductors, a decade box simulates electrical values. Switches are arranged in decades (sections of 10) where values from 0-9 are selected. Configured boxes can be substituted into a circuit as a component to determine the appropriate value for circuit operation. They can also be connected to input devices for testing. After connection to the decade box, a device should display a reading corresponding to the previously set box value. Our wide selection of decade resistance boxes include models that can serve as standards in verifying the accuracy of resistance-measuring devices. We offer a wide variety of boxes built by IET Labs, Prime Technology and AEMC.

Flowmeters
-
We supply mechanical and electronic flow meters designed for accurate and repeatable readings of gas and liquid applications. Within our digital process instruments, you can order ultrasonic flow meters that measure water, oils, chemicals and solvents. Liquid flow meters are available to provide liquid metering, as they automatically adjust to flow changes. In addition to our digital meters, we have magnetically driven water meters that remotely monitor flow rate or totalization. We also have a broad selection of economical flow meters for air, gas and liquid applications. They are mechanical instruments for direct scale reading. Our meters for flow measurement are built by premier providers, including GE Panametrics, Great Plains Industrial, Fuji Electric and Dwyer Instruments.

Frequency Counters
-
Frequency counter models can be direct or reciprocal counters. Direct counting models count signal cycles for a specified period, called the gate time, and resolution is in Hertz. Reciprocal counters provide faster, higher resolution performance, with resolution listed is in digits/second. When shopping for a counter, remember to review resolution and accuracy as separate specifications. The resolution of a frequency counter is the smallest change it will detect between closely spaced frequencies.

Dial Indicators
-
Dial indicators are precision instruments used to measure small distances and angles. These micrometer-type instruments indicate readings by a needle moving across the graduations on a dial face. A plunger on the indicator moves in and out from its body and rotates the measuring needle. Digital dial indicators feature digital displays and linear encoders.

Micrometers
-
Our metrology solutions include mechanical and digital micrometers that accurately measure short distances, thicknesses or diameters. A standard instrument features a semicircular frame with an anvil on one end and a barrel with a spindle and turning thimble on the other. When the spindle and anvil make contact with an object, measurements are read from scales and computed, or the total measurement is digitally displayed. An outside micrometer often measures wires and shafts, an inside type measures hole diameters, and a depth meter measures slots. Precision electronic micrometers feature LCD displays and an output port for transmissions. Essential micrometer standards can be used to check micrometers and make gage comparisons.
